The combination hackamore combines a hackamore with a mouthpiece for special applications. They are very popular among barrel racers that need added control on the headstrong, pulling horse, giving you more control with a check and release cue when you rate the barrel. They are also good in bigger pens and on hard ground. The mechanical hackamore is a modern hybrid of the original California hackamores. They are available with a wide variety of nosebands that vary in texture and size. The rougher nosebands are designed to get the attention of a green horse. Thinner nosebands apply pressure to a more localized area for increased severity. |
